Memorial Day Campout

Many people know our family has had a tradition of camping for the Memorial Day holiday for the last 30+ years. The last several years have been spent at Buena Vista Recreational Park outside Bakersfield, CA. And most have been blistering hot. But not this year! This year we had much colder temperatures with lots of wind and even a little rain. We weren't quite prepared for what we got.

Mom and Dad arrived and set up camp on Tuesday. Shae and I joined them on Wednesday. The wind was so bad that we played games and ate in Shae's tent.

Eric and Sarah joined us on Friday.

We love to sleep outside under the stars. Some sprinkle's in the middle of the night on Thursday had Mom, Dad, Shae and Natasha scrambling to throw our bedding into the tents. It didn't pour but it wouldn't have been comortable to sleep in.
Friday night we managed to stay outside but Saturday night it hit us again. This time it came down a bit harder. After that we decided not to take our chances and slept in the tents the rest of the time.
Roasting marshmallow's and hot dogs.

Wow, Tasha, I'm impressed! You never really seemed like the camping type to me. Looks very fun, especially with the cooler weather.
