Divine Nature

For one of my Personal Progress value projects I decided to learn how to sew from a pattern. Rather than sew for myself I selected on our our YW, Maddy, to be my model and recipient of the skirt. She helped to pick the pattern and the fabric. Here's the finished product! Ta da! (It kind of looks like a pirate skirt in this picture. Maybe I should have made the sash a bit shorter.)
There are definitely things that could have been improved, but overall I think it came out pretty well. I learned how to make pleats and how to put in pockets for the very first time. Fortunately Tacey Burham mentored me through it because the pattern really wasn't written very well. Here's Maddy wearing it for Young Women in Excellence where I presented my project.
