Getting Started

So, here I go with my own blog since the family wants to keep theirs to family only. I don't have a current picture of myself to post just yet, but I'll try to get one posted soon.

I guess I'll start by sharing a short (sort of?) description of my holiday activities. They started on Dec. 21 when I joined my friends Corrine, Alisa, Kate and Rachel B, and Michelle C for dinner and then we saw Michael McLean do the Forgotten Carols at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. It was fantastic, despite the fact that I was running a fever and sick to my stomach from all the cough drops I was using.

Saturday, Dec. 22 I spent the day getting ready for Christmas Eve taco night at my house, and in the evening I watched the fantastic Las Vegas Bowl game, BYU vs. UCLA. Eric, Sarah, Shantel and Aaron joined me in this viewing pleasure (it's the only game I got to see all year). My fellow LDS co-worker (Evan) and I were having a very friendly rivalry with a fellow co-work/UCLA fan (Keith). Needless to say I was ecstatic when the miracle came and BYU won. The UCLA fan will be coming back to work next week to find a BYU inspired office decor. Hee hee hee. (This narration was originally written for the family blog and posted on Jan. 2. I'll tell you more about this in the next posting.)

Monday, Dec. 24, Mom, Dad and Brynne got to my place about noon and Dad helped me hang some newly acquired home accessories. I finally have things on my walls after only 1+ year! Then we all took a real estate tour of a local community, hosted by my good friend CB and arrived home just in time to finish getting dinner ready. The Laws and Andersens joined us for Taco Night, followed by a family home evening lesson from the Andersens and a rousing game of Last Word.

Christmas was spent at Shae and Eric's home and the day after that we celebrated Sarah Law's b-day. Thursday, Dec. 27 I took a drive down to visit the Schumann's and Brady's for Bob Brady's son's baptism and enjoyed visiting with all of them. It was a late night drive home. Saturday, Dec. 28 I met up with the Andersens and Laws again to go visit a friend and then Aaron, Shae, Sarah, Shantel and I played a game of Acquire (winners in the order of mentioning).

Other than that I was a perfectly lazy bumm and read all 3 of Stephenie Meyers' books from the Twilight series. I'm quite obsessed with them now and will happily discuss with anyone who has read them.
